Dug through the search, not thoroughly, however has anyone made an enclosed CAI box, Im looking to lower my IAT's on setup, I will be getting a new hood shortly. Either Cervini heat extractor or trufiber svt hood can't decide yet. However with my underhood temps are quite high, so now I am looking at other options. So I started to think about a enclosed box with a dedicated vent that runs down to either grilles. Anyone made one?

Yea DOB blown, there are plenty of different things I could do to help lower the IAT's, like going to a bigger pulley, porting and polishing the blower for better air movement.

My own opinion is that changing the air intake won't make much difference. I've had a few different supercharged setups and the intercooler pretty much takes care of anything being sucked in.

I've also monitored iats while na. When the car is moving they come pretty close to ambient. A friend of mine called Procharger once about their air intake location. They told him that they did fab up an intake that would take air from outside the engine bay and the result was a 5 degree improvement. If you aren't familiar with the Procharger 3v air intake it sits right over the exhaust manifold.

It probably wouldn't be too hard to fab something up for testing. Maybe some dryer vent hose and stiff cardboard? I'd like to see the results if you do.

With my setup I dont think I should be pulling 174 temps though. Afco dual pass with dual fans, meziere 20gpm pump, moroso battery tray tank and all 3/4 hose. When the car was N/A i had it dynoed up in VA and the guy said that I had one of the hottest underhood temp vehicles he had seen.

Maybe the maf is off? Does it read ambient at startup? I would assume the intake temp sensor is moved to after the intercooler?
