Hi guys.

The prior owner of my Mustang drove is for 40’000miles with relatively short trips, he mention he never really went up in rpm that much, I believe the car has never seen before the 3500 rpm.

I made a research with Ai for a safe adaptation to a higher rpm and heavier throttle.

The Ai came out with this progressive method of higher rpm and heavier throttle done with a pull followed by 5-7sec of engine breaking, supposedly adapting the engine to heavier loads/rpm and cleaning combustion chambers, exhaust valves and help with rings re seating.

can anyone confirm this is a good protocol?

I have done it for a while now and the car sounds deeper and more open, engine response to throttle a bit quicker.

There is phase 1 up to 4000rpm, phase 2 up to 4500/5000 and last phase red line

My vote, no need to “recondition it”.

Just change the fluids, make sure spark plugs are in good shape, get fresh gas in it and give it the old Italian tune up via a wide open throttle pull. Doing that will blow any carbon build up out

Rings have been long seated to the bores and won’t “reseat” or shouldn’t really even need to. That really only happens if the car hasn’t been run in a long time and the rings are stuck to the piston and the motor is generally in bad shape.
