First legit road course

Went to a Road Course event this past Saturday at Gainesville International Raceway. It was a short course, went with a few friends and there was a good turn out of cars. On the pbox i borrowed, my best lap time was a 1:01.6, besting my friend with a 2010 STIs best time by a tenth. There was a 2010 GT500 out there running 1:06s, so it made me feel good about my time . Also was a cammed out Novi blown 05 there with coilovers, gt500 brakes etc. who was running :59s. He had alot of experience and was impressed that i was cutting such low times for my first "legal" track experience. Pretty much it was shit tons of fun and now im hooked.

you wouldn't happen to know the details on the suspension/wheel setup of that "other GT," would you? The wheels look like Fr500s, but possibly more aggressive of a stance than the standard +40 offsets. I wonder what springs he's on (or coils?).

They were 18x10 fr500s all around, the front had a big spacer on them to accommodate the gt500 front brakes, and he was on H&R coilovers

I wish I knew about the event, I live in Jacksonville and just found out Gainsville has a road course track. The PCA is having an event at Roebling in Savannah Ga September 11th and 12th if you are interested in it.

Yea most of the people out there were from Jacksonville actually!

And yes im running different tires in the front, KDW2s and NT05s, don't know how much that affected me, never really ran it full out with just the KDWs. Should it have made a difference? NT05s will go on the front once they wear out, just the rears seem to go out faster for some reason...
