Damn if I wasn't deployed you'd have the spring compressor sent to you already. I have that.

Is there another way to prime the tensioners without all the fancy tools. Would turning the engine by hand prime the engine

Another question guys.... Is there a way for me to check clearance or space to see how many of these spacers/shims that I need under the follower? This being a Larry H. built motor I dont trust that he did everything correct to begin with! Im just worried that putting a new one on did not solve why this one came off.? Or maybe its not that uncommon for these to lose pressure in them and I just got a bad one?

and I have no faith it will ship then. The ship date has changed 3 times since I placed my order back in the beginning of July. Fortunately my Comp cam install is not a rush.

Yep!!

I placed my order with the same vendor the Ford dealers use. At least we both received the same ship date. There are other vendors that sell the tool (Google the part#) but it is unlikely they have them in stock. You may get lucky and find one but you'll pay more $$

Correct. That's exactly what happened to me. I repalced the lifter and the follower.

did you have any other issues, oil pump perhaps?

Are MMR's heads the only ones experiencing this failure?
Did both failures happen with BBR regrinds?
Any other common denominators?
Was your and Ron's failures both LarryH motors? I can't remember who built Ron's motor
Any failures that weren't MMR heads or BBR regrinds?

So is the common denominator Larry H built motors with BBR regrinds?

Have there been any other failures I'm not aware of?

Mine was because my oil pump failed, since there was no oil pressure gonig to the chain guide tensioners, snapped the pins they rotate on, and then caused timing to jump, thus killing the follower ha

To prime the lifters do you just submerge the whole thing in oil then squeeze it until no air bubbles come out

The relation to both mine and Ron is Larry H. and BBR regrind cams. I had no oil pump/pressure issues, I have great oil pressure actually.

Ron do you have any pics of the lifter that I need to order?

Im worried that Larry may not have been careful with the spacers/washers for the regrinds giveing the correct position of the follower and I have no idea how to check for this?
