My theory on the torque is don't put em in without a set of prothane motor mounts as well.I believe that the stock mounts will still allow the engine to torque over as they are so soft.

Where are you guys saying you've seen all these problems with them breaking at the transmission? As far as I know there has been ONE person who's had this happened. The guy lived in PR and from the pictures it looked like a user problem or a faulty part from FoMoCo. I don't think that's much to be crying the sky is falling. There are thousands of these things out there.

any such thing as "over tightening" a limiter?

If I were to guess on a reason why these broke, I would bet that i fucked up the install somehow. To make it clear, I do not blame CHE for this and I would be suprised if this was any kind of trend at all.

As far as the clunk going away. I have givin my experience after removal and only a theory as to why. I could be completely wrong and have no problem admitting that.

What am I going to do now? When I get around to it I will look over the install instructions to see if I fucked anything up in the install. I have not decided if I will repurchase some torque limiters or go with new motor mounts or just leave everything as is for the moment. Time will tell.

I've seen two or three instances where either the bracket-side, link (in this case) or the transmission bolt/mount broke. From the way they're designed it appears the poly bushings would provide enough 'give' to keep this from happening unless the trans is moving that much..how likely is that? I installed these for a buddy and made sure to adjust them side to side perfectly making sure no bind was introduced. If they aren't adjusted perfectly and have bind in either link I think that's when problems occur.

Got any links to broken transmission mounts other than the guy from PR? :2cents:
