any such thing as "over tightening" a limiter?
Where are you guys saying you've seen all these problems with them breaking at the transmission? As far as I know there has been ONE person who's had this happened. The guy lived in PR and from the pictures it looked like a user problem or a faulty part from FoMoCo. I don't think that's much to be crying the sky is falling. There are thousands of these things out there.
I've seen two or three instances where either the bracket-side, link (in this case) or the transmission bolt/mount broke. From the way they're designed it appears the poly bushings would provide enough 'give' to keep this from happening unless the trans is moving that much..how likely is that? I installed these for a buddy and made sure to adjust them side to side perfectly making sure no bind was introduced. If they aren't adjusted perfectly and have bind in either link I think that's when problems occur.
