Here you go, lol

The threads I saw on the FB group we are part of you are referencing mentioned a BMR drop K-member and the other guy who got his to fit under a stock hood posted pics of the hood under bracing cut for clearance.

One guy did have a lowered kmember but that is not who I am referring to.
The gent with the cut hood had a first gen Holley intake.

Sorry I don’t know who you are on the group.

I’m sure, but I didn’t plan on that and they can run a few grand. I did speak with a couple guys at Holley and one said the sniper was tested to 30psi and another said it was tested to 50psi. So that didn’t clear things up lol.
Since I can’t find any videos or definitive answers as to if the new FRPP manifold still flexes and moves the rails, I’ll probably go with the Holley Sniper and hope for the best. It apparently had all fitment issues resolved.
If anyone will be in the market for a brand new FRPP intake, be on the lookout in the FB groups.

"Speed costs money, How fast do you want to go?" That quote has been around as long as racing and it fits as well today as it did 75 years ago.

You may want to follow my build. I’ve got more in parts than buying a new s550. :) I didn’t plan on spending $2-3k on an intake when a $650 one should have worked.

I see you were tagged in the posts I mentioned, having to cut the stock hood and otherwise modify the car for the Holley.
Are you going to give the FRPP a shot or swap intakes?
I’ve considered the Holley intake myself, but for other reasons. I want to plumb a direct port nitrous system and the Holley looks great for that purpose.
If you do go Holley don’t forget you need the throttle body spacer they make for it as well.

You have $40k in a 3v build? Good lord that thing outta haul ass. I thought I was in too deep at $15k or so, lol. By the time I get to $40k I figure I’ll have a custom 400 cubic inch engine and be in full racecar mode

Couldn't have said it better, LOL! Good luck!

We considered getting a new s550, but the 07 was what we had when we first got married, made our baby laugh in the back seat and now at 6 years old still loves it, and we managed to hold onto it while I was out of work and in the hospital getting chemo and a bone marrow transplant for leukemia.
So, lots of reasons, but even still with a s550, I wouldn’t have just wanted to boost it, and in a few years would be in the same situation but with a big payment and overhead of parts.
Now I have a fully built killer motor and all the supporting mods for a streetable drag car that we can take to shows as a family.

I currently own two '07's, each with less than 10,000 miles. I'm with you, each time I consider upgrading to a newer model, I think "why?, I'm still enjoying what I have". Just sales taxes alone on a $50k new car would be over $3k, that buys more mods! :)

Good story to go along with what sounds like a great car!

Yeah just the depreciation hit alone would not be worth it. Plus if you get a brand new car you are starting all over again with mods which sucks.
