Today i was driving my 07 GT down the road just after filling up, and i got an error I think it was "Fuel Level Error FLI" but i am not sure also my fuel gauge went to empty. It was like that for about 5 min then error went away and gauge went back to full.

Ideas anyone?

Did you leave your ignition on while you were filling up? You have to turn it off for it to read correctly, or else it takes several minutes.

Is it throwing a check engine light or any trouble codes?

i had the same thing happen to my 06 v6 stock.. tho mines the basic model with no display thing, while driving with almost a full tank of gas, my gauge just dropped to empty and literally scared the shit outta me because there were no gas stations around. then a song later it returned to its normal reading.. that happened two days in a row. its been bout 3 months since thats happened.

What are youe error codes?
They are stored in the PCM you need to download them.

My WAG is that it was Fuel Level Error FLI.
Thats exactly what it does when it happens.

Get your codes.

It is deposits on your level sensors in the tank (Capacitive Type Sensors).
Try running some Techroline (Checker carries it) thru the tank first.
If that doesnt work then it's replace the sensors (Warranty Item with a TSB out).
Stick with Chevron Gas.

Happened to me a while ago. Was idling for like 10min then the gas needle went to empty. So I just turned it off then back on and it was back to normal

When mine did it the car was under warranty still.
Happened one day then repeated a few days later.
Then a third time a day later.
The Dealer rather then try the Techroline like the TSB stated just replaced the sensors and fuel pump.
The manager told me he had not seen the Techroline fix work yet, because by the time it happens it probably was too coated with deposits.
That was 2005 or 2006.
Ford did redesign the probes and used some other material in the coils.
I have not had a problem since then; but I only use Chevron gas now.
May be why.

Same thing just happened to me. Yesterday it came on and I ran a system check and the error went away. This morning it happened twice again. On the second system reset it went away. I got a picture of the error display

Could be a multitude of other things, but I believe there is a TSB about high sulfur fuels creating a conductivity error in the fuel level sensor. I have GT500 pumps and had the samething happen, I had them out and cleaned the sensor contacts with alcohol and scrubbed them. Hasn't happened since.

My '05 did that right after I got it last year. I ran a couple more tanks of fuel through it and haven't had it since.

But lately I've had it read way past F on the gauge twice.

You know I just thought of this now but for the first time I had run my tank right down to empty... I mean 5km to empty. I've never had it that low before. Not sure if it is relevant or not. Going to try some Techroline and will be going on a trip this weekend that will have me running a couple of tanks through.

Is there any thing to worry about while this warning comes up other than not knowing how much gas you have?

I think my error happened after I completely ran dry (the one time I did that) and filled up.
