I think i could get a 4" down pipe in without loosing the ac. I run 2 3" pipes through there on our twin kit no problem. It would just take a little fab work to make it fit. And i could keep it above the k member like our two 3" pipes are.

Believe me when I say, with bending around the AC, couldn't get it done. He would be better off using the twin 3".

I would think that you would get the best results with a bigger turbo. Before switch to s&h. I would get the biggest oilless turbo you can fit and try it out with your current kit before you make the switch.

Kit design, turbo placement, piping size etc also play a big part in power production. 500rwhp on 5-6psi and 600rwhp+ at 10psi is a pretty big difference compared to other kits.

Josh, plugs look fine to me.

Whats the new power goal, bad day at the track doesnt necessarily mean you have to throw parts at the car.

The kit I have now is a pretty darn good design. All 3" piping and not a lot of bends at all. It did pickup about 50whp over the on3 kit I previously had. I think I am just out of turbo.

You pretty much hit it right on Jeremy. Had a bad night at the track and now I want to throw money at the car again.

The compression test is more for my own peace of mind since I have two seasons on the engine now. I am always second guessing myself like that

Havent heard from S&H yet, but so far the price point and realiabilty of my current turbo have the Precision winning out.

Jason hurry up and get your car done so I have more to go on. You are still stock stroke right?

yes sir! It was supposed to get broken in on the dyno tonight. I am at 11: 1 and a 7675 billetwheel precision. I will know more soon. It is definitely a good choice for a turbo in a 76 frame. I surely wouldn't throw any more parts at the car until you get another few trips to the track. Your da the other night was terrible for a good pass anyways. When I ran tens it was only a few hundred feet above sea level. Besides you need a better burnout. with the parts on your car and your tires there is no reason why you can't go 1.7s or better

Edit, stock stroke!

Well I am not sure what the DA was in April when I went, but my best 60' then was a 1.9 and that netted a 11.2@ 135. That was also on the nittos and sitting on the bump stops.

Yea 135 is moving, but I only got good times cuz I was in good air. Did get a good 60 though. Won't ever be able to get that again unless I put gears out back to offset my 1st gear ratio.

I need to figure out how to launch in boost without blow the tires off. Those times were at the same track where the elevation is 14xxft. Iirc the temps were in the low 50s that day and humidity was around 30%

If you're running 135 trap speed then you definitely need real drag tires (not Nittos). I ran 10.48@137 last year and that was still at 12 lbs of boost with a 1.54 sixty foot. Never got a decent pass in after cranking it up to 14 lbs.

The 135 pass was on 16lbs also. I didn't run anything other than 20lbs Friday night.

At this point the extra horsepower isn't helping since you can't put it on the ground. Time to address traction. Start with tires then talk to Kelly about dialing in your suspension. IMO you can't go wrong with the MT ET Pro radial. Guys are hooking with 1000-1200hp on them.

Tries talking with Kelly once and didn't get the best results to say the least. I had a set of their springs on the car once( the ones that made it sit on the bump stops). I asked him about it and about all I got was "maybe they just won't work for your car" enen though I have a lightened car.

I am very interested in getting the suspension worked out on the car. Obviously it isn't where it should be.

Josh, not sure I've ever hit bumpstops with my ultra lites. With the 1.4x short time, its def hitting hard. All I have in the back are those springs, Strano sway bar and PB, plus UMI billet LCAs.

The biggest thing for me launching in boost is the "SLIP". If you don't get the slip just right you blow the tires away. If you bog bad you aren't rev'd high enough IMO. When I get nervous at the line, sometimes I end up popping the clutch off the 2step vs slipping. When I do that, its spin city every time and the pedal's already matted so you have to lift, loose boost, then get back in it and the run is pretty much shot for me.

Next time go there, let the other guy go on green, then rev or come up on the 2step, and when your ready just try to get that quick slip in for your launch. Helps when you aren't trying to "Race" the other guy down the track and launch right on green.
