Congrats on the new best! Also what rpms were you coming through the traps at? I'm thinking about raising my rev limiter to 7000 when we do the race gas tune.

Well, bad news...After my first time shot tonight as I was about to get on the return lane my car sounded real deep and felt like it was running on half the cylinders. Got it towed home and the plug in cylinder 6 got hammered.

Stuck a coat hanger in there and it went down far and I tried to turn the coat hanger and it is getting caught on something. I suspect the rod let go on decel and the piston is destroyed but I won't know until I start opening it up to look.

As for my rpms crossing the stripe, probably around 6400. When I'm running (was running now) higher boost I have to lock up my converter around the 1000' mark or I'd be going through much higher.

I'm not surprised since I have to have thousands of runs on it since it was built. It was bound to happen sooner or later. Now I just have to start opening it up little by little to see what the damage is.

Hopefully I have a car that I can use for the last two 11.50 index races. I'm in third by 3 points and only 18 points away from first so if I can do good in the last two I may be able to win the season. Not to shabby for my first year really competing.

And by the way Al, you were bitching about me not being able to cut lights on Sunday...figures after I got knocked out by my neighbor I cut a .004, went red by .007 and then cut a .006. I just had to get used to how the car was launching on the 2.75" pulley ;-).

Those videos are awesome. Sorry about the motor. Seriously how many runs do you think that motor has?

I've got to have thousands of runs on it. Was built when the car had 109890 miles, it's over 131k now so 22k miles and I have run this year at the track at least 2 days/nights a week sometimes as many as 4.

I wasn't mad or angry until this morning when I got in my daily driver and the check engine light came on in that.... When it rains, it pours.

Here's what the plug from cylinder 6 looks like..

I was there too James and your car was really running great. I was there with the kona blue 011 running 10.40's. Your car is really impressive. Sorry about the motor problem..

Ahh...you were in the quick 8 I believe.

I'll have to start a new thread outside of this one once I start tearing into it.

Nothing will be quick on this due to current funds. I have to figure out the cause of it before any re-assembly happens. I need to send the fuel injector out that feeds cylinder 6 to make sure it is functioning correctly, make sure there aren't metal shavings in the oil pump, etc....

Time will tell.
