Hey Guys,

My awesome wife just bought me some 3.73 gears. My question is what kind of difference will I feel moving from my stock 3.31s in a 2008 GT manual? I was considering moving up to 4.10, but wanted to hear your opinions first. Thanks!

if im not mistaken your car have 3.55 from factory.+1 on exchanging them for 4.10 youll enjoy them much better than 3.73s in my opinion.

In 2005, 3.55 gears were stock but they went to 3.31 after that.
I have never heard a complaint about 4.10 gears so that is probably indicative of something. . .

05-06 have 3.55, 07+ have 3.31 unless specified otherwise. I would do 4.10. Thats what my plan is this spring.

My 07 was bone stock off the lot and it had 3.55's stock. The best way to know is to read the tag on the rear.

And fwiw, I would let your wife know you really appreciate ho much she loves you, and then explain that she wasted her money. Go get 4.10's or 4.30's.

4.56's or stay home.

j/k

with a 26.6 tall tire and a 5 manual it turns 2715 at 70mph.

65 is a comfy cruising speed at about 2500 rpms.

Thanks for the help everybody!

I will be trading up for the 4.10s. It was my fault she got the 3.73s so she doesn't feel bad (she heard me mention I would like some 3.73 gears and she tried to surprise me).

Good luck, that is one project I'm not going to try myself until I learn a lot more. Just too easy to mess up the gear install. Cudos to you if you get it right the first time.
