Hello,
Looks like I am going to be dropping some gear for some streetability in my extreme (4.10's are a bit much with the t56). Looking into 3.90's and 3.73's. Are there any noise complaints with Yukon 3.90's? I used to run their gears in a Jeep I had with a small block in it with no complaints. Also Is there any horsepower limitations on any gear manufacturers products.
Thanks a bunch

The 4x4 shop that installed my gears pimped Yukon and said they had a good rep and they hadn't had any trouble with noise. BTW motives are suppost to be noisy but mine are quiet. I think it has alot to do with installer

GRAYPNY is having noise problems with his FRPP 3.73 install (see thread elsewhere on here about it). Most responses point to the installer, I dunno.

ur not gonna see any difference with the 3:90's and the 4:10's and these gears should be great with a 6 speed.

I would also use only ford racing gears. non should make any noise. never had an issue with any of these gears

All the issues i've seen with noise is from being installed wrong. in my 01 cobra I had 4:10'sand loved them. started making noises so i pulled the diff cover off and pulled everything apart and founf out my bearings were gone and not installed correctly. Gears were fine. FIXED the issue and noise went away

I've been looking at doing the 6060 and checked gear ratios against the 3650. To get the same overall first gear as my current 3.73's I'd need to go to 4.10's. When I put the two scenarios side by side in my gear calculator spreadsheet the first and high gears are almost IDENTICAL. Look at the MPH at 6800 RPM for both cases.

Dude, your "steetability" statement is confusing. You're not going to get better streetability going from 4.10 to 3.90 gears. Hey, it's your thread but why did you even bother to ask?

Ive got the same set-up/similar power to you. You'll be happy with the 373s.

Not to change subject...BUT are you the guy that put a Billet Specialties GTO shifter in your car?

No I am not... I sent Jim III the link for the billet products shifter... seems like it could work. I was all about upgrading the shifter on that t56 but never did
