Our cars will not sound like the previous gen. 5.0s. A good choice would be MACs or the flow classis. O/R H with 12"resonators of your choice and MACs would sound awesome. Right now I am running catted X (hi-flow cats), 12" resonators and MACs and I love the sound. It has a good tone and just the right amount of volume.

they dont look that big even the axleback sounded good i like the sound better than my 44 anybody got any vids of 40's on there car??id really like to get as close as i can to the old 5.0 sound i love the sound of a old 5.0 with o/r hpipe and flows

i miss my 1989 lx 5.0 with flows!!

I've been fighting the sound battle ever since I went single turbo. I ended up with gt500 mufflers. They sounded ok until I turned up the boost. I must have the loudest turbo car in the world lol. I ended up installing 12" dynomax bullets right before the mid pipe turns up to go over the axle. Running the GT500's as well. Now she is quite as hell until you beat on her. I removed the gt500's and i am now running just the bullets dumped over the axle. She sounds great, but the fumes and noise in the cab are starting to get to me. I am picking up some flowmaster A/T this weekend. I know they hold the car back some, but the sound is what i wanted from the start, so I'm going back to them. When i was N/A full bolt on and cams i was running the flowmasters and loved it. OR-x pipe, LT and flows, what a sound lol.

Because its turbo'd, turbos do way better with straight through mufflers

you loose power with the flows???


When I was N/A, I wanted to test a couple different mufflers i had. I went to the shop and started testingl. all in one day on the same dyno.
FLowmaster 312RWHP
Stock 316 RWHP
magnaflow (CAT BACK) 321 RWHP
no muffler 331 RWHP

So flowmaster loose power. I was tired of everyone saying it, but not backing it up. So i tested it lol. They sound great, but you will loose a little power

My friend also came to the same conclusion at the track. He and another friend did a couple of 1/8 mile runs. Both were getting mid to high 8s at 80-81 MPH. A couple of weeks later they go back to the same track. He puts flowmaster A/Ts on and he runs low 9s at 79 MPH. Our other friend is still running mid to high 8s. The only difference between the two dates was the flows.

shit might as well take the mufflers off and dump the exhaust befor the axle free hp

it dosnt sound bad either that was the first thing i did to my car when i got it i drove around with the mufflers off till i got the flows only thing is the exhaust rattled but ill just take the mid pipe off need all the power i can get for when i go to the track for the first time ever tryin to get my gf cousin to bring his srt8 challenger

you might wanna put you stock h pipe on though cause o/r pipe and no mufflers better wear sum earplugs

I had flowdisasters on my Dodge Ram and while they sounded nice (can a Hemi sound bad?) the interior drone was so terrible I grew to hate them on the highway.

i havent rly had any drone with these now when i had the o/r h on it had this annoying tin can sound

H and x are what and what until you get into the upper rpm then the x pipe will get you more power. I personally like the sound of the x over the h.

well i took the mufflers off and it sounds preatty mean specially when ya get on it now im thinkin bout gettin the cut and weld in x pipe to get more power how much power would you get from like 5 to 10??
