Antioch Ca,
So I got burned on a TCI shifter ( I was asking for it, it was listed on egay for "parts") well the electronics are dead TCI was no help as far as service/repair and couldn't care less about my issue the "Tech" guy did offer up that it happens and that they're made in china and also out of stock with unexpected restock. My question is I can live with the dead circuit board and I can wire in a O/D switch and the park lock solenoid but want to use the factory connector ive searched here and online and so far have only found one incomplete diagram, does anyone have a pinout for the connector?? thanks in advance

Are you talking about the TCI shifter for the 05-10 automatics ??

I had two brand new ones from AM..and both were a major PITA ! One day I came out of 711....and it would not come out of...'park'. I had to do the manual over ride.

Then the SJB ( smart junction box) in my 2010 stang was replaced..3 times. Then the local ford tech and myself finally figured it all out. The TCI shifter would put out a transient /surge /spike towards the SJB....and lock it up... then have to manually depress the white nylon to get the tranny outa park. The ford tech did a master re-set on the SJB...and all was well......for a week. Then I get yet another spike from tci into the SJB, locking it up again.

Returned a total of two brand new TCI shifter's to AM. That was the worst cluster I have ever had with the car. OEM shifter back in. I would avoid the TCI like the plague. It really buys you nothing anyway...EXCEPT that u can manually shift anywhere from 1-4. With oem shifter u can manually shift anywhere from 1-3 ( u have to depress side button to get it outa Drive). For drag racing it shifts faster just using Drive.

IF you use the tci...and say in 2nd gear..and WOT....then shift into 3rd at say 4 k rpm....it WON'T go into 3rd. It will wind out to 6 krpm,, THEN shift into 3rd. Ditto with a 1-2 shift or 2-3, or 3-4.

Toss the tci into the trash...it's junk. TCI's 5r55 isn't much better, too many horror stories.

I agree..

Yes 05-10. As far as electronics it is junk hence my wanting to bypass the tci junk board.
But I also hate the stock shifter and its vague gear detent feel, and when I decide to up shift starting from first anything more than a nudge skips detents.

I've had mine for at least 5-6 years and I abuse the shit out of it. I used to shift manually about 90% of the time until I got my tranny shift points tuned to where it is bearable for me. But I've never had an issue with it. I'm not praising TCI because IMO their quality has never been up to par and their customer service sometimes can be below par. In fact I've steered clear of TCI products for the last 2 decades. Just saying this because we always hear about the failures and never the successes that always skews peoples opinions.

Notice I changed the handle and moved the O/D button from that stupid spot TCI decided was a good place to the handle. That's so I can operate it without looking down and hunting for the little button at 80+ mph.

Hey BOSS, that's exactly what I need to do, you remember how you wired that button and it is it a momentary or a latched On/Off switch what signal does the car want? I can figure how to wire the park solenoid or just disengage it completely if need be. thanks for the pic!

I put that thing in so long ago I can't remember what wire I tapped into. I do have to pull apart my dash and center console sometime here this week so I can look. It's just a momentary button that came with the handle. Got it from Jegs or Summit. I also use the same button for my line lock. I have a little hidden toggle that switches the signal from the O/D to the line lock relay.

My plan was to dive into it this evening but I have to play an 18-hole match this afternoon and it's only supposed to be 111* today. I might be a little spent by the time I get home. But if not this evening, definitely gotta start working on her Wednesday.

I'm gonna pull apart the console and dash tonight for sure so I'll get back to you on the wiring. Played golf again yesterday and in this heat it just kicks my ass.

I'm interested in how you wired that od switch too. It's my only gripe about my tci shifter, I hate that little od button.

So one more quick question also, do you Boss or anyone know where the ignition lock gets its signal to let the cylinder be turned and key be removed when in "Park"

Well this wiring is a mess and am embarrassed to throw up a pic. But, for the O/D it looks like I tapped the purple/white wire which I'm assuming is the power for the shifter, ran that up to my momentary button on my shift handle and then ran it back down to the tan/white wire. These wires are off the factory pig tail going into the shifter. The tan/white wire has been cut from the connector and so I'm assuming it goes to the O/D relay or whatever. But basically you gotta get juice to the tan/white wire to trigger the O/D on and off.

As far as the neutral safety and ignition wiring, I'm not sure.
