Got my Hurst shifter in today

My wife bought me a Hurst Comp/Plus shifter for Christmas so I braved the cold (6 degrees here this AM), fired up the space heater and put it in. I know there are other shifters out there that are "better", but I really like the look of the Hurst line of shifters and its miles better than the stock piece. The throw is waaay shorter and it feels much more precise.

Did you put loctite on the stud / nut where the shifter links to the transmission shifter linkage?

^x2 if you didn't go for it it will be loose by next week but I am happy with mine and really like the look of the hurst as well! Enjoy it.

i like my hurst.. but going into 4th and reverse is sometimes difficult FWIW

All that matter is that you like it, I have an mgw and my stocker powershifted better but most people love the mgw's

That was my first aftermarket shifter and the one I think looks the best.

I am going to. I didn't have any loctite so I just went ahead and put it on for now. I don't drive the car in the winter because of all the damn road salt we get here (I did take it for a test run though). We carry loctite where I work so I am going to get some tomorrow.

Well I have not drove it much but I would say its a lot better than the stock one. The stocker seemed very mushy especially going into 3rd. I've missed 3rd a few times and I think this Hurst shifter will help cut down on that.

I think I'm satisfied with it...but I have heard good things about the MGW stuff.

Yeah, just really don't forget to put loctite on it and torque it proper specs. Becareful aswell, because it is very easy to over-tighten it and break the stud. It happened to me.

Got the loctite today...I will probably wait for the weekend to jack it back up and apply it. Thanks for the tip. I sure as hell don't want to overtighten and break it. I bet that sucked for ya!
