Gremlins in the Radio

I did a search and didn't come up with much. I have not had a chance to check anything yet and just wanted to see if anyone else had this problem.
I had the battery die about a week ago and replaced it everything works fine except for the lights on the radio buttons. The panel on the front lights up fine so I can see the station but all the number buttons are out. I know this isn't tech tech but I was just hoping for some suggestions. I have never seen this happen before where it was just the buttons and am not sure if its just the radio or maybe a fuse or setting. Thank you for any suggestions or ideas in advance.

Sound like it fried the illumination cirucit on the main board. I toasted one a while back messing around with it...they're pretty delicate suprisingly.

What radio do you have? I have a couple laying around...and I do some work on the Shakers as well.
