Hey all, I recently upgraded my brakes to that of an 05-09 GT's. All this means is about an inch bigger front rotor and a GT front caliper bracket to account for the larger rotor. If any of you have been searching for this bracket you know its extremely difficult to find right now, I searched many websites, even ordered several times to get a call later saying they didn't have the bracket in stock. I ended up buying the whole bracket and caliper from AM until I could buy the bracket separate. This is the only website I had luck with.

Part Number: 14-1091
Website I used: Parts Geek
Total price including core($20) and shipping(10.55) was $76.71 for the pair. Not too bad. Anyways, Hope this helps anyone who was having the same issue as me!

Another great option is to buy the anchor brackets for a 11-14 from Ford. This allows 05-09 cars to use larger 13.2" rotors with the stock GT callipers.

I bought mine from Ford, paid about double that. Tried painting them with expensive paint, which is falling off before I install the brackets - so if you're painting these things, cut that silver crap off with a wire wheel or acid and go with primer first.

I thought about it, maybe eventually, but I had a difficult enough time just grabbing the 05-09 GT ones.

My bad. Thought itd make sense for the v6 guys to see this. Not much of an upgrade to GT owners.

I hit them with primer, but didn't sand them down at all, only sanded the calipers. Paints still holding up, I think I used engine paint, primer, base, and clear. Still holding up pretty good, whenever I upgrade to a 11-14 size setup i'll do it more thoroughly. Fords prices are rediculous, no wonder they call em stealerships.

A few of us lucked out about two years ago. Roush was selling takeoff rotors and calipers from 11-14 GTs with like 5 miles on them for ~$125 shipped for both. Ended up with bigger brakes and a spare set of new calipers. I might still have my 05-09 brackets in my parts bin.

Really? Damn thats good. I don't know why these things go for so much. Eventually I'll see about picking up the 11-14 setup. If you have them I'd be interested in picking them up from you for a friend

So what do I need to buy for my 06' GT to use the larger 11-14 GT rotors?
Is this a upgrade for the front only? Can the rear be upgraded also?

11-14 caliper brackets and rotors, calipers and pads are the same.

I don't think the rears are any different. The front brakes do all of the work anyway.

Not sure if the rears are different. You'd need the 11-14 GT brackets, not sure about calipers.

I don't think the rears are different. For the front, just the rotors and the brackets are needed. I believe the calipers have different part numbers but physically they look exactly the same. I just swapped the rotors and brackets and bolted everything back up.

I do indeed still have the 05-09 caliper brackets. I'll let them go for cheap if ya want them.

Tremendously. The braking power is a huge step up from the factory setup imo. But I got new rotors and pads at the same time I did them upgrade. Definitely a must for any 05-09 V6.

Not sure what you mean? I have a 06 v6 and upgraded to a 05-09 GT brake setup. All that means is a bigger front rotor and bracket. I didn't install a 11-14 brake setup. Pretty sure its the same thing though, larger bracket on front, bigger rotor, maybe bigger rears.

05-10 V6 can upgrade to 05-10 GT brakes or the 11-13 GT brakes. Requires rotors and brackets, calipers are the same.

05-10 GT can upgrade to 11-13 brakes for an improvement. Need brackets and rotors, calipers are the same.

I went a step further and got 15 GT brake calipers and bolted them right on with some spacers and some brake line tweaking.

The back brakes are the same for all with the exception of the GT500's.

I did a bunch of datalogging somewhere that showed the improved braking performance going from 05-10 GT to 11-13 GT front brakes was about 15-20 ft shorter on a 60mph to 0 mph stop with the 11-13 brake kit.

I found some guy selling a 2011 GT front brake setup, calipers, bracket, dust shield, rotors, for $100, emailed him and never heard back. Eventually (a few months lol) I'll pickup a takeoff setup
