I'm new to this forum so I'll introduce myself. I have an 08 Regency Mustang GT which they put GTR on the back so guess its a GTR. Completely stock so far but has a American Thunder Catback and Shaker Hood that they come with. I'll get some pics up eventually when I can get the camera hooked up. I'm trying to decide whether to go with a Pypes X or H. I'm definately not getting cats so it will be the offroad x or h. Keeping the A/T on there. Let me know yalls opinions on which one. Ive heard H is deeper but X gives more power. So leaning toward X right now

Are the mufflers chambered or straight through? Never pair a chambered muffler with an x-pipe. Generally, chambered = h-pipe, straight through = x-pipe, but h is ok too.

its 2 chambered but ive heard the x gives you the increase in power past 3000 rpms while the h pipe becomes useless at that range....from watching a video of a roushcharged gt with the same setup, pypes offroad x to american thunder i love the way the x sounds. but was waiting to hear from someone who actually has the setup

From what I've read, the difference between x and h are minimal in hp. I'm getting ready to swap my Kooks X pipe for the H to get a deeper sound. If I loose a couple of hp, then so be it, but I'm not happy with the sound of the X through the Borla Stingers.

oh really? was yours catted? i had an 03 cobra with borla stingers and i loved it with the stock x

2003 cobra comes stock with an Hpipe.

Go with an Hpipe with your flowmaster axleback. The seat of the pants difference is stupid small compared to the horrid sound it will make with the X compared to the H pipe.

Yeah, the Kooks are catted. l loved the sound of the stock H with Flowmasters, but after installing headers with X, it didn't sound right with the Flows. So I switched to Stingers, and although it sounds bad ass, I just feel a lower rumble is my preference.

Heres a small vid. of my car with an UPR Off Road X-pipe and 2 chambered flows. I think it sounds pretty damn good myself, but thats me. Please excuse my brother in his cobra also playing around in this vid, it gives you an idea of what the car can sound like. And there is a racing vid you can hear what it sounds like going down the track. Hope this helps you.

Different track vids, to see which one you can hear better.

from experience in other mustangs i've had. If the new UPR X Pipes are like the ones for the 96-04 mod motors, they are probably the most mellow sounding of all the x pipes. The aren't overly loud at all and have a far deeper sound then other x pipes...sounding borderline H pipe. They do not have near the raspy sound that the bassani x pipe I had. If any x pipe would sound good with flows...its that one. Not to mention the car in the posted vids sounds quite nice

There is no way you could ever pay me to put any Xpipe on my car with chambered mufflers. I had it on my first mustang, and my balls just about rattled out of place by the drone and it was just way too loud and raspy tin can sounding. My friend told me it was just my Xpipe and let me ride with him with his car which had the bassani Xpipe and 2 chamber flows. Yep, still the same. Granted it sounds great outside the car, but inside the car it is unbareable....

My car does not rattle one bit inside or out. The exhaust on my car is pretty much uncorked and yeah its loud but its not raspy, numbing sounding, or a horrid drone. I have never got one bad compliment on my cars sound, everyone has always told me it sounds great. I guess some peoples cars are different I dont know, I have my fiancee ride with me all the time and she has never complained about it.

Oh, well some of the 2V did have some nasty raspy sounds but I think by far the 2V sounded the best, dont get me wrong, I love the sound of the 4V cobra's but the 2V just did it for me. It has its own sound and without turning around to see what car it is, you can always tell its a mustang.

I love the sound of mine. I have Kooks LTs with O/R x and stock mufflers. I get lots of compliments.

ahhh... I miss the days when all you needed was a Fox body, a 5.0, a gutted cat H-Pipe and some 2-chambered flows... man I still love that combo.
