Understand and family needs should come first....and I wonder how the 2013 GT 500 is going to affect the prices of the 2012 and below GT 500's.

Freedom Ford had a 2011 GT500 with glass roof (stripe delete), NAV, and PP with 2700 mi, asking 44K. When i looked at it I thought to myself, "this is a world class muscle car".... I should have jumped on that snake right there! I think we will see a bunch dumped on the market as the 2013 raises the bar!.:boobies::thumb2::crazy:

What did they offer you?

Did you contact the person on the corral that was looking for a black 2010 in NJ?

Yeah contacted the guy from the corral with contact info.

Prefer not to say what the dealer offered at this point, but I'd be negotiable on my selling price......

Would like to find the person who will come along and buy my 71 Boss 351. The ad is on the misc for sale section.

Carmax will offer you either half or less then the price it is actually worth. At least that was my experience when I asked them for appraisals on all my cars.

Guess I was lucky as they offered me more on 2 cars I took there than the dealer and sold them to them with zero issues.

You guys do know how they come up with their prices, right? Can't use KBB, NADA or any other online tool...they call the people that buy cars at auctions and ask them how much a car with XXXXX amount of miles and XXXX options have been selling for....then they may add a few bucks if your car is in really good condition/low miles and still under factory warranty.

It is called a Black Book and comes out weekly and is based on what the cars are selling for.

I disagree as I have been standing next to the people when they call as well as had more than 1 dealer tell me this is the way they do business.

I agree but when they are talking to the wholesaler they are using the Black Book. Alot of the cars are brought in from Manhiem or Stateville. Price for used cars are up because there aren't many cause of Cash for Clunkers killed the market. You normally don't see new car dealers having 10 year old cars with 100k miles or more on their used car lots until Cash for Clunkers. I talk with several Wholesalers daily and the Black Book is their main tool. Alot has to do with the type of car because certain types sell better in certain areas.

The guy at Beach Ford showed me the black book on my car. I was being offered avg. money. He said they will never give "clean" money, even though my car is pristine.....The clean value was about 2K more!

Carmax offered me exactly half what I sold my '04 Lightning for. They said it was because it didn't have the stock wheels and the transmission was shifting hard. Yeah, an Factory Tech Valve Body in the transmission will do that (designed by a Ford tech to make the tranny shift out quicker). Sold it to a guy who loved all the mods, and said that was exactly what he would have done to it (pulley, tune, cai, FTVB, etc).

Carmax is a great place if you want to compare several cars side by side and test drive back to back, and no sales pressure. Bought my wife's Lexus there.

Good point; Carmax wants the cars as stock as possible and will take money off if the car you are trying to get rid of is modded.

They seem to give the best prices on newer lower mile cars that are still under the factory warranty.

If anyone likes Amsoil products and needs something please let me know. My nephew is now a dealer for Amsoil. I'm switching the F150 and the Camry over to their new OE synthetic.
