Head gasket manufacturing defect

I am rebuilding my engine and went to put on the passenger side cylinder head and noticed that on the front cylinder there are no holes drilled for coolant. Is this how it’s supposed to be?

I have yet to tear down 4.6L 3V, but have you compared them with your old gaskets?

Per Google search.

Yes that is what I have found too. They are from ford performance head swap kit all the big places sell. Not sure why Ford blocked off those coolant passages, but they did.

They have holes, they're just small. What size openings are on your old gasket?

the one is for the left head the other is the right,, i just matched the head gaskets up as i replaced them,,but yours is correct, its not defective
