hay guys, does anyone know what head unit wiring harness i need... i have a shaker 500 and i'm changing to a Alpine CDA-9884 head unit... i have a dash kit, but i need to fine out what wiring harness i need?
All of them can with an adapter, or if your electronically inclined and willing to do some research you can make your own adapter for around $30-40![]()
If you don't try what Eagle Stroker suggested, you'll have to pick up the PAC C2R-FRD1 harness to use the factory speakers/amp, etc. Its goes for MSRP ~$130, but shop around and you can find it for less. I got mine for $65 with the purchase of my head unit from Crutchfield.
I just went through all this. What I ended up with was a Pioneer AVIC X910BT. I used the PAC harness mentioned and all went well. Cost me $534 for the deck and about $60 for the harness. $20 for the iPod cable. I am more than happy with the deck
Here's some quotes from another thread on this topic that myself and some others commented on:
ETA: The PAC harness made the process really easy (especially for someone like me, who had never installed a head unit before). It really turns it into a plug and play type of thing.
Or you can use a 70-5521 metra harness and just run accessory power to the fuse panel In the passenger kick panel. There is some open spots there. Also you will need a 1200 ohm resistor on the turn on wire for the factory amp. This is what we do at my shop and the harness can be had for less than 20 bucks most the time.
thanks for the info guys! i'm prolly gonna gonna use the 70-5521 metra harness...
