I have spent the last two hours looking for the write up on the my color option. I tried the DIY tech and chit chat sections with no luck.

I am basically wanting to make sure before I swap a friend that his my color center console is going to work in my car. I have the mycolor gauges and the iup package. Just not sure on the rest.

No reason it shouldn't work as long as they are from the same gen Stangs. If the connections look the same then I'm sure there won't be any issues. I believe the cars are wired up for the mycolor even if it wasn't put on the vehicle.

Won't work unless you have the harness. They started adding them in 07 I believe. You could always hack something in though.

yeah I have an 05. That's what I was curious about was the wiring if it was wired up for it or not. I have two extra plugs under my center console. But I wasn't sure if those went to the my color cup holder or for a convertible

I was thinking the 05 had the option too. It was just an extra expense on top of the iup to have the floor lights as well as cup holder.

I always thought the ambient lighting was added at a later date, not an option on the earlier years. I know not everyone has the harness.

they had it in 05 as well; friend has it in his..pretty sure its the ambient lighting that was added later

That looks like C307 Trans shift selector. I assume your car is not an auto?

That is definitely not the harness for the Ambient Lighting package. That's for the auto if your car is a stick.

MyColor refers the gauges and has been offered since the S197 came out. Ambient Lighting is the foot wells and cup holder lights, and was an option starting in 2008.

I'm trying to find a picture of the harness but I know it's different. It's like it has two connectors that "splice" in, t-ing off into the button for the ambient lighting color switch.

Here. I just went out and pulled my console apart and took these pictures for you. You can see where that one harness is for the automatics that you posted a pic of.

The 'T' harness is for the ambient lighting. Don't mind the other wires - one is for the line lock, and others for my iPod.
