Had the problem with my MAF and it ended up being a broken wire. Problem came at James house (Dysan) and we chased the problem all day. Same issue, the car would go to about 2000 rpms and shut down. It did show a code, but cant remember off the top of my head.

Same here, it was a loose TPS wire in my TPS harness extension. I was throwing the TPS codes, forgot what they were.
