No damage besides the bolt that I can tell. The threads actually look fine. I could have swore that I torqued them down, but it's very well possible that I didn't
Did it cause any damage besides that one bolt?
All I can relate is my experience putting new ones in my car. At the time it was all that was changed and I had also pumped them up while submerged.
IIRC mine made noise for about a minute. It seemed like a long time and it was awful noisy but since that was all I had changed I rode it out and it got better.
If you are using a super thick break in oil it's going to take even longer for it to get to the top end. IIRC you have an aluminator which has factory clearances.
Bruce looks like you were right on the money! The shop started the car twice yesterday but only for about 15 seconds each time because of the valve train noise. When I got there today we started it again and while it made noise for a few seconds it quickly went away. So, even though I submerged and pumped up the lash adjusters with break-in oil and pressurized the system again with break-in oil on May 14th, I guess they bleed down. In any event we had it running long enough to check the fluids and heat it up with no unwanted noise. Shut off and started again with no noise. All I could hear is the sweet whine of the SC and the rumble of the cams! If all goes well Matt D will complete a break-in tune this afternoon and I will be on my way home tomorrow to clean my car for a show Sunday.

Congrats, I have felt the way you felt in all this. It sounds like you do not have a oil pressure gauge, I suggest installing one as part of this build. Oil pressure and old oil can tell you alot about how a motor is doing.
