I’ve never ran a turbo kit before so I’m not sure what all I can do with it or how certain components actually work. One of the features that made me choose it was I wanted to have multiple boost levels that are easy to adjust & control. I loved playing in the Kenne Bell but felt I lost alot of traction control I had with the ProCharger. An example of what I’m wanting to do is see 0lbs=1st gear, 3lbs=2nd, 10lbs=3rd, 16lbs=4th….no plans for slicks or track use. From what I understand my TurboSmart eboost 2 controller & eboost 2 control solenoid will allow me to do this..? I’ve been looking at the TurboSmart eboost 2 4 port control valve solenoid. There’s a 3 port & 4 port valve…all the reading I’ve done makes me think I need a 4 port over the 3 port bcz the 4 port will allow me to run low boost in low gears but I could be totally wrong!! Anyone running a setup like this that can educate me? Is what I’m talking about possible with the turbo setup?
Wastegate
I’m going to have puts hands on the piping install to understand how the wastegate works. The pics with On3 kit aren’t the best and I could read the instructions 100 times and still not see it in my head but my understanding is it relieves pressure before hitting the exhaust wheel. I think it does this from a pipe coming from each manifold piping going to the gate…..well, on one YouTube On3 vid the guy recommends disconnecting one of those pipes and capping it to eliminate boost creep. This just blows my mind but again I’ve never installed the piping so I don’t see the whole picture yet!! I upgraded the wastegate to a TurboSmart WG45 Gen V hypergate. I found an adapter for the 2 bolt 38mm flange to a 44mm v belt gate but will this work on my 45? Some sites show the Gen V as a 44/45mm so will it work on a 44mm adapter?
I’m stuck…I don’t know which boost solenoid to order or what adapter I need to hook my wastegate up!! Feel free to post any turbo info you want
