Hole in BBK TB

Been chasing a vacuum leak for awhile now, finally decided to rip the intake off and start fresh. Started reinstalling everything and noticed this hole in the bottom. It goes all the way thru the casting…is it supposed to be there?

Called BBK, weap hole. Gonna temp seal it to eliminate as possibility. The (high idle/vacuum leak) issue has been there since start up. I noticed a lot of loose bolts ripping the intake out today. Intake and valve cover bolts were 70% loose. I’m wondering if the heat cycles loosened them or if I just SUCK!! Hoping to fire it up later and get lucky!

Make a smoke machine or buy a cheap one on Amazon. Plenty of videos on how to make one from PVC on Youtube. Easiest most positive way to find a vacum leak.

The hole looks like it belongs but throw a piece of tape on there to eliminate it. I wonder if it was any of the loose intake bolts that was the cause of your vacuum leak.

Tried the smoke test a few times and didn’t see anything. Thought I saw alittle something by the throttle body motor and TPS so I sealed around both of them with gasket sealer just to be sure but didn’t see anything definite really.

Yeah it’s a weap hole, got ahold of BBK. Good help, quick response time. Have electric tape wrapped around it currently while testing.


I’m wondering if it’s the TPS Sensor. Gonna start a new thread more related to that. I’m at ground ZERO, no clue what to do

BBK (and really any non Ford aftermarket TBs) are notorious for causing idle issues. You can datalog TPS voltages 1/2 and I am fairly certain there are prior threads that cover this you could look for too.

All THrottle bodies will generally have a weep hole.
