How hard is it to replace a seat skin?

I'm not even sure if I'd be able to find just the leather covers, but my driver's seat split right in the middle of the lower skin, and is starting to get a hole in the left side bolster on the seat back. Rather than buying a whole seat (and paying to ship it), it would be nice if I could replace just the skin but how much of a pain in the ass is that?
