i popped my 5.4 in my 05 f150 in late 06. full bolt ons +150 shot. i sprayed it constantly tho. truck moved great with 410's and looked bone stock. wrist pin gave out, drove the truck for 200 miles after i had the nitrous backfire so i could get to and from work til i dropped it at the dealer bone stock![]()

It's far more common for built motors to blow than stock shortblocks, and to an even greater degree stock longblocks. The reason is not just that the built motor is going to be raced hard, but many people underestimate the accuracy with which Ford can mass produce their engines compared to an aftermarket builder.
