This thread has really got me thinking....

I love my car, it's pretty quick no where near fast enough but it gets the job done as is. Boltons seem fucking pointless at this point. 600$ for 8rwhp, yeah fuck that.

I'm only 19 (turned it like 2 weeks ago) So not in the positon to go out and buy a new car and make payments on top that. My question is:

To those boosted 3v's that turned their car back to stock form in order to get a new 5.0.... Why? I know everyone has their reasons but... Was it just not making enough power? Too many problems? I want to go boosted but not if I am just gonna turn around and try and sell it. Only thing I could get rid of my car for is a 04 cobra or a GT500

If you can't make payments, you can't get a gt500 or the cobra (which is 7 years old). Best bet is to buy a fox body and build it up for $10k and beat everything (5.0, gt500, and cobra)

Lol very true. If you don't mind the boxy looks and old interior a foxbody can be a very cheap rape machine.

Problem is you used to be able to get a clean fox for CHEAP. Now they cost quite a chunk of change for a clean unmolested fox, at least in my area.

My big thing is I'm almost at 100k and don't really have the money to build the motor. A new 5.0 with 2k worth of mods is about as fast as my car any way.

Bingo. I was at 75k and couldn't convince myself to put money into that engine. I then thought about getting a B302 or an Aluminator, but I can't do that myself. Add FI to the tab and we're talking $15k. Let the car get totaled or stolen and insurance would have given me a check for $13k.

But your willing to sign anew contact and pay 30k over 5-6 years? A motor is much less then that...... You sure that is the real reason for making the change? BTW, Im jus say..... These words are mine only, know what Im saying? Do what makes you happy....

It's just a great ass feeling to get a new car! It's also a great feeling when you get a built shortblock but I think you will get tired of it quicker than the new car

It seriously is. This is car number 6 for me, but the first NEW one. I'm in love.

Never said I was getting either one right this second, I could manage a cobra. Now a GT500 or a NEW 5.0.... probably not.

I don't have 5-6g's laying around. A new car that won't be my daily will be pretty special. Something the 07 never got to do until it was too late at 90k. The payment on my new car will be cheaper too. I'm not getting the car until December and during that time, I will use some of my part out money to invest in the future. I'm going to pay off all my bills, cc's and people I owe so I can start over in December with a cheaper payment and no Revolving debt.

It'll be cheaper to build the paid for car. Period end of story. At least if you do your own work it will. You can always get a loan for the parts.

That said it's gonna be tough for any bank or CU to compete with the zero percent loans people have been getting from Ford. With that in the picture - it's hard to say "no". ;)

I'd still get the GT500 though.

Agreed. I do know brenspeed could finance your for one year at zero percent, but that's still ~$8k that must to be paid off in one year, otherwise you're stuck with paying ridiculous interest that's compounded since the day you bought the SC.

Lol, no. Carcarone card threw ge money has a 26.99 interest rate. We use the same financing card at work. I'm trying to pay off all credit, not add some. The car payment is there either way.

Ummm, what I'm talking about is definitely 0% for one year. I was even approved last black friday. There is a 5% fee, but I wouldn't have been charged tax so I saw that as a wash.

If all you are worried about is the motor then yes, build it or slap in 5
0 but for the price of a new one you will get the full package. The 2011 interior is so much better than the previous S197s and if you are also looking to get that newer body style then its a no brainer if you have the funds. I understand there are those people that just want that power but I'm a fan of the whole package.
