I finally changed the rear shocks on my 08 GT. My baby only had 160k miles.

I noticed that the motor would redline whenever it was pulling hard and I hit a bump in Michigan's wonderful roads.

I installed some Monroe OESpectrum shocks today. I don't race my car, and it's my daily driver. So far, the car didn't redline on the interstate today, and it definitely rides quieter and smoother.

is not bad. The only way you can torque the upper fastener is if you use a crow foot wrench on the nut, and something tiny on the rod. I used a 7/32" wrench on the rod and ratcheting box wrench on the nut. The 7/32 wrench broke, so I figured the nut was tight enough.

Those are probably OEM replacement or better. Nice!

Why the one shower title?

I had the feeling I waited way too long to replace them. I saw some people replace shocks/struts at 50k, and I was three times that.

I was just unrealistic. I would push down on the rear, and the car would operate normally. I thought I was ok. It was only when I hopped up and used my fully body weight a week ago that I could induce it to jiggle like jello. I should have known better.

Yeah I believe Dial is ant bacterial? If I recall "old school" Ivory bar soap is the one that has the least amount of chemical, additives and fragrances.

Good luck on your procedure tomorrow buddy.
