Inner Tie Rod replacement

Hey Guys, I have been searching all over for a write up or suggestions on how to change the inner tie rods of our cars. Some say you have to buy special tools to replace them and others say just pop it out with a hammer...Any write ups or thoughts and opinions would be appreciated! Thanks!

I could see them too. Here's the part that shows inner tie rod removal and replacement. I don't think a hammer will do it. I've not done it on the Mustang yet, but on my Taurus, I needed the special tool. Got one fairly cheap from Harbor Freight.
