I spent my Saturday doing paint correction/detailing of my car. There are times I ask myself why did I get another black car & then it's moments like this that I realize why I did. Having a black car car is a love-hate relationship! Thanks to Seer's sticky and help, here's what I ended up doing:
Machine
Flex 3401
Process
wash
clay with Speedy Surface Prep Dx Pad with CG Lube
M105 with 5.5 hydro cyan pad pad - speed 5
IPA wipedown
M205 with 5.5 hydro tangerine pad - speed 4.5
Meguairs Final Inspection wipedown
CG EZ Creme Glaze II 6.5 hyrdo crimson pad - speed 3
Meguairs Final Inspection wipedown
CG Jetseal 109 6.5 hydro crimson pad - speed 2.5
Tomorrow
CG Black
I previously had CG Blacklight but decided to tryout the Jetseal. Seems to have more shine. Can't wait to apply the CG Black.
Props to the guys who really know what they're doing because buffing/polishing definitely takes some practice. What I find challenging is the vertical panels. With the Flex, you really have to pay attention and maintain control. It can be pretty tough keeping the pad flat against the panels.
Sorry but pictures were from my iphone, I spent a total of 10 hours start to finish, I am tired as hell!
Tell me what you guys think? What are some of your tips for tackling the vertical panels?
Happy Memorial Day to all my fellow vets - past & present!
