Last night Kevin from Performance Autosport in Richmond came down with their bone stock 2011 GT for us to do yet another before and after JLT CAI and tune test to confirm the past results we've seen.
We strapped it down and did 2 runs to make sure it was making good stock power and it was, 361 RWHP and 334 RWTQ. This is exactly what our Kona car did stock.

After a quick install and tune upload we made some more pulls. Run 3 was a blunder as it was made in 4th (oops) by mistake so run 5 was a pretty hot run with coolant temps above 200.
This resulted in a 384.92 RWHP and a 363 RWTQ for just shy of a 24 RWHP and 30 RWTQ gain.

To be far we let the car cool for 30 minutes and got coolant temps in the 175-180 range, more equal to the stock run and bam, 391.6 RWHP and 369.64 RWTQ for a grand total of 30 RWHP and 35 RWTQ gain from nothing more then a JLT CF CAI and JLT custom tune.
The tune was not adjusted and is the same tune we have been running in our car minus our header adjustment for weeks now.
We also remove the skip shift in the tune as well.
I'm working on a video now and hope to have it up sometime today.

Big thanks to Mark and Kevin at Performance Autosport for the car and time.
Thanks
Jay

Great numbers!

I'm sure you're asked a million times, but any eta on ordering?

My car is going to the dyno on September 22nd after I install my full SW full exhaust. I'd love to do some before/after on my car with the JLT on that day :)

Jay was this at All Aspects? I am dynoing my stocker there tomorrow at 8 AM. When is the non-carbon version supposed to come out?

Also on the stock graph did the car knock at 2500 or was that dyno operator?

Call in to get on the pre order list.

Stock run dip is from the stock tune, not sure how the dyno operator could do that without a drop in rpm and spike in A/F.
3 cars I've done here, at All Aspects, has a similar dip

What time are you on the dyno? I may be able to remove my kit and do this on your car too. Got to take it back though :)

I'll be there at 8 AM. I didn't notice the AF spike. I was thinking that maybe he re-positioned his foot on the pedal or something during the run.

I'll be at our shop pretty early, if I can and you and Keinan are ok with it we can give it a shot and see what it does.

Stop by if you see the door open

So the Coyote claims to rev, even under stock conditions, to 7k/rpm. Is that saying it's capable of reving to 7k, or it makes power to 7k? Just curious why the powerband falls at 6.5k? Not that the last 500rpm is going to last very long, I'm just curious.

What about all the vendors claiming 28 to 30 rwhp from just a tune???? If that's the case the intake isn't adding any power??? Just asking.

They rev to and above 7000 with a tune. Peak power is not always made at peak RPM

Who's claiming 28-30 with just a tune?
Who's shown 28-30 with just a tune?

It's not happening. The average gains with just a tune are 12-15 RWHP and the average posted gains from a CAI and tuner were 22-26 RWHP.

Beware of unrealistic "claims" of HP. If someone says 28-30 with just a tune, ask for proof, if someone says 44-56 with a CAI and tune run away.

We will only claim what the customer can get at their local dyno.

When i e mailed and asked BBR how much from a 93 stock to a 93 tune they told me 15rwhp. So that may be going from 87 to 93 or that can be throughout the curve and not peak.

All I know is that is what they list on the website. I haven't actually talked to them directly.

You have very experienced tuners getting the same #'s such as JLT, VMP, Bama/AM all getting around 15 peak rwhp and about another 10-12 with a CAI. Now at this time if there was more to be made do you not think these guys would have found it? Do not go by what is on the site as they are trying to sell you their product. They are a business. E mail them and ask them how much peak rwhp am i going to make from 93 to 93. Ask for dyno graphs.

I would like Jared from Lethal and John from BBR to jump in here and tell us the real deal. Why advertise some false numbers to sell a tune when the guy buying the tune is probably going to dyno before and after to see what kind of gains are actually made?? That would be bad for business now wouldn't it??

of course it is, read the fine print adn it'll say that. "on 93 octane" its true number but half the country doesn't get 93 pump gas.
