That is scarry tho. To have a failure after 4000 miles and no autocross etc.. YIKES! All the parts were new I assume?

The chain guides were new, the tensioners, chains, and phasers weren't. They had about 15k on them.

Wow, that is still low miles on the parts that you did not replace. Just surprises me completely. Thank you for posting this, as I think a few of us atleast will watch ours a little more closely...

Ive been having a few issues and am currently second guessing my timing. So this next weekend I'm goin to rip everything apart and check and replace parts as necessary. Anyone know how much a complete timing kit costs?

Look at the first post in this thread. $242 is what I paid, but some people have gone to Levittown Ford and got it for $190 now. For that price, I'm going to buy another and put it in the attic.

BTW, I'm at Hood too. Did we meet at Bills Muffler?

Newby here, What are the issues/symptoms of having timing chain/cover issues?

From personal experience: When you data log and find that one bank is running richer or leaner than the other and noises from the valvetrain that weren't there before. And lastly, that feeling that something is wrong and you should remove the cover to take a look.
