Yeah I have fooled many into thinking its a GT badged 6cyl until I start it :evillaugh:

Im thinking about just widening the stock wheels for wider tires and keeping the look just to hurt peoples feelings at the track.

it would be even funnier if you had a REAL quiet exhaust system to.. like VERY quiet.. until you open some electronic dumps that are mounted right behind the LT's..LOL

I don't get a boner over dyno numbers usually, but something is going on. Hopefully you guys can get it pinned down. What kind of timing is being commanded when it's being pulled? How much total timing are you running? I assume this is all on 93 octane. Just looking for some quick details.

i remember him calling his brother and saying that its starts out at 30deg, and then as soon as he floors it, it goes down to 18deg between 4100 and 4800rpm's then goes back up to 30.

You might PM Lito on here.

ok i just shot him a pm w/ this thread pasted in it..

someone on another forum said that the traction control would pull timing to but that is only if the car would be making enough power to make the tires spin a bit on the rollers right? i doubt that is happening but i will ask him today when i talk to him to make sure that he had it turned off.

my car is an auto w/a tci 3k stall, and all the mods listed in my sig, we had the trans locked in 4th gear, then we tried to let the trans shift like normal, w/ the OD turned off, and then while running on the dyno it still went into OD at 5500 rpm's..

I can't comment on the timing issue as I am definitely not a tuner but I can comment first hand on TCI converters. In general they are nothing more than a reworked OEM converter. Are you absolutely sure the converter is not locking/unlocking on the dyno? If the transmission is locked in 4th gear it should not shift into 5th gear while on the dyno.

yes he had the trans locked in 4th gear and i never heard it shift at all (never went into 5th gear except for when he unlocked the trans from 4th).. i would assume that if the trans is locked in 4th that the converter will be locked to?? when he UNLOCKED the trans from 4th gear it was shifting through the gears on the dyno. is there something special he would have to do on his SCT settings for the stall that we arent aware of ? i know there is an adjustment on there for it. but i dont know what he did to that adjustment if anything.

what do you mean "spark source" ?? sorry for the ignorance..lol

Spark source will tell you where to computer is getting the spark information from. If you datalog spark source you can get an idea of why the spark is being pulled.

Might not be as far off as you think. I have almost identical mods as you without UDP's and I dyno'd 298whp at Brenspeed on 89 octane. Your auto and the 91 octane will hold you down a little. Does the car pull well? If it drives good I wouldn't get bent about silly dyno numbers too much. Did you run on the dyno before your mods? Could have got a stinker from the factory, some of these cars only start around 240whp.

Sounds kinda like what my car is doing...right at the 3800 mark my VCT is acting up...I've been working on my tune for the past 4-5 months trying to figure it out and we have pretty much come to the conclusion that its either the cam towers (VCT Solenoids) or the Cam Gears (bad phaser)...I would do a datalog in 4th Gear starting at 2000 rpm and take it to 6500 rpm WOT...you will want to datalog your Actual Cam Angle, Commanded Cam Angle, Cam Source, RPM, Fuel Source, Load, Spark Advance, and Spark Source...your Actual Cam Angle and Commanded Cam angle should gradually increase not reaching your peak timing until right at redline...Look for a dramatic change in your Actual Cam Angle when the problem occurs...If your Actual Cam Angle is the same as your Commanded Cam Angle where the problem occurs then its a tune problem...if the Actual Cam Angle is different than the Commanded Cam Angle when the problem occurs then it most likely mechanical...to me this sounds like a VCT problem...anyone can correct me if I am wrong about anything said

I'm sorry to say this but that shouldn't be their job? aren't they the "tuners"?

If you are a paying customer, if they can't get it solved aren't there any other tuners worth around?
