Im not 100% sure on this, but the liquid cooled KB's arent gonig to lower your IAT temps. Your liquid cooling the bearing case, and your evening the pressure from front to back of the blower.

The IAT's are dictated by the Intercooler itself, not the front case per se.

If you are concerned about IAT's, upgrading to a bigger HE would be your best choice. I am getting the AFCO dual pass for my 2.6 pretty soon.

Yea 94tbird has taken me to school on cooling down my current set up. I am interested in the 2.8 IAT's though. Trying to determine fact or fiction from the KB tech doc's. Hopefully a user will chime in

Do you have a 2.6S or 2.6H? There was a big difference in IAT's for me with the 2.6H. With the standard kit at 10 psi the IAT would be around 120 degrees and with the 2.6H at 21 psi the IAT's were around 125 degrees. Might be a better/cheaper upgrade than dropping another $6,500 on a mammoth.

I called KB and I have the S and a new H will run $2199 . I asked many questions about if there was difference in the IAT's and he said some but was not really to committal

What other cooling mods do you have?

Standard (S) is the 2.6L Big Bore. It is usually what everyone normally gets when ordering the 2.6 package.

I had the KB supplied heat exchanger, pump, and upgraded to a battery box tank.

Call Adam at ST Motorsports he may be able to get you a better deal. I did not pay that for mine.

So if you are boosting 18-20 lbs through the 2.6, would it be worth it to drop 2k on the H blower?

If you believe the KB marketing than maybe. 2K for 30+ HP and lower IAT's. I am considering buying the H also as my tuner will not raise my horsepower on my built engine because he is concerned about cooking the engine on my 2.6 S at 15 psi. Most likely I will just set the boost at 11psi and work on the inter cooler circuit.

I have learned a ton about the 2.6 this week. Great forum here and I appreciate all the knowledge sharing

Still haven't heard from any 2.8 users

I sat down for a few hours doing my planning for my engine. We are going to be using the afco dual pass HE with the fans, and the larger battery mounted tank that can be packed with ice if needed. We are also going to rig a bigger waterpump to the HE to flow better. I plan on doing a 3" pulley and 10% OD crank, expecting ~17psi. If i can come close to 700 on race fuel or E85, i will be content.

Honestly, if the IATs are then still too high, I really like the BBR meth injection plate for the KB's.
