Knock sensor activity

I have been logging my car some and have seen negative knock sensor values on my lo I have a SCT tuner. I have heard that the negative number is actually adding timing and when it's positive that's when it is pulling timing. Is this correct? And I only see negative value but it has gone to -4 before is this ok

yes, negative numbers are adding spark.....you are good.
