Did you call them and talk to Mike, Rich or Andy. They can give you the best info on the heads.

Just look at my 'reloaded' thread.

There is info in there. These are the heads being shipped to me tomorrow or friday. They have been building them for me for the past 3 weeks.

Here's the highlights...

Custom Hand ported, hand bulbed custom guides, upgraded retainers/springs, and a custom grind cam to your application (turbo, N/A, blower), lockouts, all the trimmings of a hand done job.

In my set it is a custom Comp stage IV turbo cam that Livernois speced.

The flow rate on these things is off the chart for a 3V in the 350+cfm range...

Frankly, since these are currently 'custom' builds to your application and they aren't offering any off the shelf kits YET - they say they will in the next month or so - it will vary depend on your set-up I suppose.

In my case it was $3300 (includes shipping) and that was from my already stage 3 heads sent to them.

That did include the hand reporting, replacing the springs to their thinner, stronger 'race' springs, new retainers, hand bulbing new 'race' guides, and a basic refresh of all the other junk as well - and the cams.

Because everything had to be redone, I'm assuming the price would be close even from a stock set/exchange.

But you know as well as I do that the 350+ cfm is worth the price of admission...:thumb:

If you want - I'll PM you the specs on the cams - I think you would be very interested in them for your car. Not that I could push it because of my stroker, but these heads are built to rev through 8 grand all day.

subscribed, I want to know more about these heads ? What kind of gain do you think you will get out of the heads alone on your car Mark ? We are also twin'd just not as big as your turbos are. We have custom turbo cams from Fastlane and if there is something better out there I would like to know ?

From everything I have seen so far - these cams are HANDS DOWN the best set-up (lift/duration) for a turbo car. I'm not ready just yet to publicly give the specs away and want to get an okay from Andy or Mike first.

As far as gains - I really couldn't say because of all the other shit in this build. All I know is with JPC's reverse intake, how I am running both the hot and cold side of the turbo piping, and these heads flowing 350+ cfm - I am expecting HUGE gains actually...

Though these heads can easily spin through 8 grand (which is AWESOME in its' own right) because of my stroker, it really doesn't concern me. What impresses me is the flow. 350+ cfm is downright awesome for a 3V (or anything for that matter). Hell, Merlin's are 10 grand if you want 500 cfm!:eek:hsnap:

With Justin's intake set-up for me and these heads on top of my extra cubes, I have big expectations, if I'm honest...

350cfm is very impressive on a small bore engine. the LS7 covette Z06 heads flow 350 but thats on a 4.125 bore!!!!!

Yep - as I said, that in itself is worth the price of admission IMO for them. It is OUTSTANDING IMO for a 3V.

Not to really get off topic here, BUT…what can our stock bottom ends “safely” rev to time and time again without damage? (Not worried about the valves, cams, clutch not disengaging, etc…just the bottom end.)

Thanks,
Scott

I see no problem with spinning the stock set-up to 7 grand and did so for quite a long time with my vortech.

There is no one correct answer or number. It all depends on how much power and how you are making that power, and the tune of course.

and also how much is in your pocket to replace it when it does pop , because believe me a simple rebuild turns to a pretty penny very very fast

Ditto.

HOW you make the power plays a big role imo. On a centrifugal like my Vortech, the stock shit will hold up at higher spins and power levels because of how the power is made.

For example, on a TS, I wouldn't spin the stock set-up past 6500...:beerdrink:
