Daaaamn sucks to be those guys! I find it odd that there are those guys with cam only cars breaking. I think I will blame it on user error or the tune

Why so salty? Those people are probably running shady setups. Never said they were bullet-proof, just mechanically superior stock for stock.

not mechanically better than a coyote. maybe EVERY other modular, but not the coyote or roadrunner.

at some point after i pay off the 2011gt or sell it, im getting a LSA cts-v, LS2 cts-v, XLR-v, or STS-v.

if i get the LS2 version, l92 heads with lighter valves and a decent cam is going in it, and fix the rear end with a 09+ V rear end.

im not after you guys for liking LS motors. just the " its better than the rest" attitude that folks take. not even saying you have that attitude.

392, LS2/l92 head swapped, and the coyote rule IMO. they are equal in my mind. id be on board with the LS3/L92/L99 if it didnt break so easily.

The ls7 can't hold boost for shit. It can hold about 650 @ 6psi with centri. The titanium rods are not built for that kinda strength, but instead, light weight. You will actually lose hp by putting in a set of forged rods lol but obviously the reason is to use a power adder so not a big deal, just a point. Also, the thin cylinder walls and shitty valves and pistons for boost. It's a sick NA motor tho!!!

Thats some good useful info here. I am contemplating selling my blown GT for a GT500 or a vette (Z06). However, i know i want to go for boost no matter which one. That LS7 would be an expensive motor to blow or rebuild!

^ Yea but 650whp in that vette equals a 9 sec car with the right driver and tires! You can get to 600whp NA tho with that ls7. Either one will be a great choice though!

Just some updates with the swap from last night:
1) An SN95 driveshaft fits perfectly with a T56 slip yoke up front and an SN95 flange on the diff. Bolted it all up last night.
2) Since I'm using cheaper truck accessories that place the alternator high up on the driver's side, I wasn't sure if it would clear the hood. Turns out, though, I've got about an inch and a half of clearance with the hood closed. If someone were to do this swap, the truck accessories won't work with a stock hood, FYI.
3) I wanted to mid-mount my Roush mufflers near where the stock cats would be, but the mufflers are just too tall. Since I've got Sportlines, I just didn't want to risk it, so I'll mid-mount some magnapacks and put the Roush's in the stock location at the back.

Ah I see looks like a lot of fun! Unfortunately I will definitely not be able to attend that I have to go to school the 3rd of Oct and will probably be working during that time as well.

Completely wreckless guys. Wish I was there but I had just finished work when you guys texted me. I can't wait till that bastard is up and running full force. It's gonna scare the shit outta more than a few "hot rodders" around here. Good on you for sticking to it though. Who cares if it's a gm motor in a ford? It's an 06 Mustang, not a 66... They made how many of them? I'm sure the pedigree will live on. Hell, the original had an Allison, then on to a Packard, and finally a Rolls Royce engine. Talk about a whore...

My dads LS3 has been pushing 650 for a few years now. He beats on it and lets me drive it every now and then and I cant stay off the rev limiter on any car I drive.

His tuner has a 1300rwhp TT LSX in a GTO and a turbo Busa. Then again the guy is a popular tuner in his area and is pretty expensive so he can afford his toys.
