Midnight Mayhem is to keep the kiddies from street racing. I haven't gone in years. They frequently change their minds on if they allow water boxes or not. The only time the track is prepped is if there is a test n tune prior.

No water box, usually. Midnight Mayhem requires DOT tires. The water gets spread all over the launch pad from people driving through it. Not the highest intelligent crowd at this event so people don't know to drive around it with street tires. In fact, most of them don;t know how to properly stage a car. It can be funny to watch sometimes. Seen people stage their rear tires and the starter gets tired of backing everybody up so he just pushes the button and lets them go. They put water down about every third event when they run their Showcase Class of non-street cars. Anyone can run in this class but it costs a couple extra bucks.

The track is supposed to have a full prep done before the event and twice during the event they're supposed to go over the first 660'. That doesn't always happen. This is a new thing as people complained and there were a few close calls. They do prep it when the grudge match guys do their list racing and that occurs about every third event or so.

Some days it can be a cluster fuck in the pits and staging lanes and that is kind of a turn off. With that said, I go to everyone I can make it to. Some days are good and some days are a joke, but it's usually pretty fun. If you are serious about running a good track they usually have test & tunes earlier on the same days as Mayhem. I think I'm going to attend a few more of those this year.

I'm not sure if a schedule is out yet but there are usually 12-13 of these spread throughout the year so it's not like it's every weekend. It's also hard to get good air here. DA is usually pretty high. And you can see the track get more and more slick as the night goes on. Usually try to get there early and make a few passes. After that the times just get slower and slower.

Yeah I was looking at the schedule from 15 and it doesn't seem to have a lot of times for average joe T&T, that's why I was looking at the Midnight Mayhem event. I was in Vegas over the Thanksgiving Holiday, Man Vegas sure has changed since the last time I went in 89. Did see Elvis though, he's a bit overweight and scratching his balls while riding a hoverround scooter. The battery just so happened to die in the middle of LVB, I think he's faking it.

Nice runs, that looked like a good time.

Yeah, I've been here since '95. Came out to go to the Hotel/Casino college at UNLV and never left. Seen this place over double in size. The growth was phenomenal until '07. Next time your out here you should give me a shout. Got a few hook ups in town I rarely use that owe me. That's how it kinda works out here.
