Oh, I should add... there is still no guarantee that you'll get traction on the street. It's the curse of the twin screw. LOL

Don I don't remember for sure as it was quite a while ago but when I talked to Weldcraft I was told $200 per wheel and they could only narrow them to 5 inches because of the shape of the wheel or something.

Thanks. I wouldn't want to go any less than 5 inches anyway. I have been thinking about having my front 17x9s narrowed so I could run a "quasi"-skinny on the street. Not as small as a front runner, but something that would appear to be skinny when compared to the rears. I'm getting a little bored and tired of the 255/50-17s up front right now. I haven't really looked at the available tires yet, so I can't say how narrow I'd want to go for sure, but I'm thinking maybe 6-7 inches.

Those should be nice... 28.3" dia, 11.54" overall width. Nitto recommends a rim width of 9.5" to 11.0", with 10.0" being the width they use for sizing. I'd say that's the width you want... 10".

John,

Don's - dead on with the specs... I'll just throw this out as an fyi - the tire is gonna look fat on the rear. Something like this....

I had my stock 17" Bullets done about a year ago for 150.00 a piece.
The problem with them is the taper. They could only get mine down to 6.5" Don must have after market 17X9's which may be better. It mostly depends on how much taper the rim has. If you E-mail them pictures of the rim without tires and use a tape measure or ruler in the pic they can give you a real good idea of what they can cut them down to.
Show a cross section with taper, then one of the inside of the wheel.

BTW, if you're ever in the market for a drag radial for the widened wheels, you might look at M/T 305/45R18. It's about 1/2" bigger than the Nittos.

I would agree... the Nitto DR is best for rain (but it's still a DR, so it's not great). But its also probably one of the worst at the track. It's defnitely not in the M&H or M/T league.
