Manifold stud removal help!

PB blasted the studs many times. Tried the two nut method and also used a stud removal "socket type" tool. Ended up with a snapped stud? Any advice on what do to? Just drill it out is my thought but wanted second opinions!

Did it snap flush with the head?

No the one that snapped did it right above the thicker seat of the stud. I can't even get ahold of the other side

Vice-grips. I've had a few that broken off around the same point. Soak it PB-Blast, then dig in the vice-grips as tight as you can crimp them down. Then work it back and forth in very small levels of like you would rock a car stuck in the snow and increase as it loosens up.

I think I'm going to try the vice grips approach along with a torch on the manifolds

Careful with the torch. With the aluminum heads, you'll spread heat quickly. Keep a tight flame tip and concentrate it on the close area to the stud.

Personally, I'd try the PB Blast and vice grips at the very low movement level before I put a torch to it.

Ok I will.

I believe it is just a propane torch a buddy is bringing but I will try that first.

I'm guessing you snapped the stud that connects the manifolds to the midpipe? Not the stud from the head to the manifold?

Screw drilling/easy out if avoidable..

What has always been a massive winner for me: Tack weld a nut on that bitch. The heat alone usually does most the work. Have done that many times, even in aluminum heads with no issues. You have to really try to screw it up if you can weld.

Yeah it's actually from the manifold to the midpipe studs. I have a friend with a welder so if all else fails that's what I will do!

Best idea is to weld a nut to it, if not then blow torch it.
