Matte Black Hash Marks on Black GT

Well, I had to get me some of these after seeing Rasmus and his girl's rides.

I did a wet install. The stripes have straight edges so I pre-cut the angle on the top and bottom so they would both be the same angle on the car.

I measured one side and marked the stripes the way I wanted it to lay. I then took the other stripe and put them back to back when I did the cut with a razor. This way they were mirror images of each other.

What is the point of these so called hash marks?? I see them more and more. I just saw a few vettes have them sitting at the dealership in town.
