Alright, salesman is telling me you can't sell under Plan price. Anyone have proof this is false?

You need to switch up your wording, and force them to want to sell the car. You are the one doing them a favor by purchasing the car. Of course you get a sweet 5.0 out of it, but they don't need to know how bad you actually want the vehicle. It can be done, but it may take time.

Very true. Not a lot of people realize this.

Alright, I'll call them back tomorrow and just say I can't do it (i really can't after your responses). I won't be heart broken if I don't get it.

So the car is $33k now, you think $3k more is enough? I just don't want to get a bad deal.

Also, I've limited myself a lot by saying it has to be a 2011 GT Premium Automatic. There aren't many left.

The best mentality to have is that you are willing and able to get the car, but at the same time be able to walk away if you don't get what your wanting. If you are content with the pricing you are getting, then go for it. It's ultimately your decision over the matter, and not mine or anyone else out there. BUT if it were me making the purchase, I would say no as of right now.

Let's say they go down to 30k on it, say "Well, I'm sorry, but I thought you couldn't go that low on the car? I'm a bit confused. Let's do 29k and we'll be good to go!"

Don't forget that you are also helping them out with the trade in as well.....

While that may or may not be true they CERTAINLY can sell you the car WITHOUT a PLAN for less than PLAN price.

I think I understand that, lol. You're saying don't use a PIN and they CAN sale under what the Ford Plan prices are. This is what my stealer is saying he can't do. For shame.

Also, here are all the numbers I have if this helps any.

Total Hold Back 1121
Invoice Total 35567.60

MSRP says 38200.00
A/Z Plan 34336.85
D Plan 34436.85
X Plan 35700.33

So yeah, I'm gathering another $3k seems about right from what people are saying. What do you usually do? Say what you really want, or say more and try to meet in the middle?

If the car is absolutely what I'm looking for I try to get free oil changes, cheaper deal on extended warranty, anything they are willing to give. If you really want the car bad...I mean you can't sleep at night and have to have it. Out the door for 20-20.5k (absolutely no more than that or you are stupid) with extended warranty at dealer cost as a bare minimum...and at least 3 free oil changes. They will call your bluff and let you walk most likely...let them call you back...if they don't then they can sit on the car and wait for a sucker!!

My plan is to try for $19k tomorrow. I'd setting for $20k. If not, I will walk away and not loose sleep about it.

Yes. I bought an 08 expedition new in 2008 for 1500 below x-plan in June of 08. Xplan is the same rules. But dealers can sell for what they want.

Hey BMR4Life, any interest in trading your car for mine + cash difference? I really want a Mustang, but I also really want an E46 M3. This way I could have both.
