Hey guys so heres my deal: i bought a brand new jlt series 3 intake for my 05 gt...problem is, the housing for the maf sensor isnt lined up right, and the screws werent going in correctly. I took it to a shop, and they forced the screws in, and it still doesnt seem likethe sensor is all the way in. Plus, now there are tiny metal shavings from the screw studs all over inside the intake. Should i try it as is or should i return in for a new one? Im pretty pissed that for 260$, i still get an intake with molds that are off. And i will try to used canned air to get all the metal out, but still sounds like a bad idea. Thoughts?

i would not use it on the car, and 100% get a replacement if it came from the seller screwed up

are you sure it wasnt lining up and that you werent just trying to pull the maf sensor over?, because when i installed mine i didnt have much slack to make the maf go in straight it took a little bit of work.

JLT is usually pretty high quality stuff so this seems weird from their products.

Yeah no matter what i did, the screw holes were not lined up...if i got one screw in, it popped the sensor up so much that the other screw wouldnt even make it to the hole...even forcing them, it doesnt look like it fits right. Its like the square hole for the maf was tilted a tiny bit sideways, and nothing lined up.

Are you sure you got the sensor in the right direction? They only fit in one way.

Positive. It was facing the only direction that fit. I tried upside down and it was even worse so i figured that was a no.

the company you bought it from should definitely help you out if it was made incorrectly, i cant necessarily speak for them, but it sounds like a defective item and they seem to have a good customer service team over there.

I emailed em, and hopefully they get back to me soon. I love those guys, and I would love to keep buying parts from them, but damn I will throw a fit if I'm stuck with a defective intake.

uhmmmm did you used the 2 screws provided by JLT ? because the stockers will NOT screw in the JLT MAF housing.

Yes I used the two screws that JLT provided, and Tucker is taking care of me and hooking me up with a new intake tube, so all is good.
