Would running a 50/50 methonal injection on a turbo'd car allow for more safe power on completely 100% stock internals? It seems like a relatively cheap buy for some pretty potential power gains off F/I. If it would work I'd think running on 11/12 PSI tuned for ~500 whp would be decently safe.
Any info? I can't find any definitive answers to this question, just "Methanol allows for more power and less engine stress.

with the meth you can run possibly with out a IC and keep intake temps down. you also decrease the chance for detonation allowing for more boost or timing on say 93 octane. i don't think its going to allow you to get more hp on stock rods any safer. your still putting a lot of stress on them. now if the weak link was say cast pistons with forged rods then the answer would be yes because you would lower the chance of blowing the rings/piston with some detonation.

Yea I figured that 100% cast internals wouldn't work too well.
I'll do some looking into the alcohol systems site.

All I can say is BE CAREFUL...

Who tunes it is not just a difference in dyno numbers but the difference of the motor popping or not...

I would not trust meth injection to anyone but a tuner who can show me at least 3 S197's he has done previously running fine for more than 3 months.

If he couldn't - I stay away like the plague...:hi:

I would agree for the most part with the above post. We use 100% meth, have 4 jets (1 preturbo, 3 prethrottle body) to get as much as possible a misting effects. The intake manifold is designed for max efficiency in distribution of gases...not fluids. We have also installed EGT (exhaust gas temp) sensors to monitor each cylinder individually during tuning.

yep - your builders Steve are the example I am speaking of but the truth is there are a small number available.

Very few guys I would trust and even fewer who do it right like yours.

For the average shop trying to sell you a meth kit - I'd say no way IMO.

BTW: The intake is GREAT!!!! Can't wait to get mine next week!
