Ive had mine for fucking forever, not a single problem
The pulley size difference is to allow the WP pulley to clear a Kenne Bell tensioner. No, it doesn't do shit for belt wrap. If nothing else it makes it a little bit worse because the pulley is smaller by a half inch or so.
The standard 4.3v pump is a wp346s, and the one designed to work with the Kenne Bell tensioner is a wp347s
What's the part number for the one with the V10 pulley for us Saleen guys ;-)
I don't think there is one.
I contacted them in the summer and said they didn't have that option.
Might have to convince them to do it for you.
Bringin it back i guess...
So are these pumps really worth the coin? Apparently the trouble experienced by some with superchargers was due to the support idler and bearings. To correct this they have the pump Sharrod posted.
The WP349S evidently has a better bearing setup (dual ball bearing) for the extra belt tension.
Now, my question is is it REALLY worth the $600? I mean, really? They say wow... an extra 11-14 hp. Thats some expensive HP. I am not shooting for world HP records here, just around 650-700. Hell, that is about what they charge for a NEW FORE hat with dual 405's. WTF... how is a waterpump worth $600 unless some hot asian honey comes in the box to install it?
i think the reliability and consistency is what sells the EWPs. being able to continue circulating coolant with the engine shut off is also a nice benefit of running an EWP. the rwhp gained from reducing parasitic drag is only a bonus.
Awesome. You have good goals ahead of you. I am doing the DOB manifold with a 08 GT500 eaton supercharger this winter. But I am still on the stock engine and just looking for some more power at the moment.
Yes the pump itself is very good, but it is a very expensive piece. If I were to go electric water pump I would go wit a David Craig one (http://www.daviescraig.com.au/Electric_Water_Pumps-list.aspx) with a digital water pump controller. You could program it to read a signal of RPM or whatever you wanted. It would be a bit expensive and you would have to figure out some sort of belt routing.
Not sure if it is worth all the effort, but if you can fab or have access to a machine shop I am sure you could get it to work.
Nice! I like the digital controler.. I think for now I am going to stick with stock WP. Too many changes at once never a good thing. Thanks for the info on the daviescraig pump.
Btw, you certainly won't be disappointed by the DOB setup!
i have had mine over a year now, i have seen 15~25 deg drop in temp, plus i have a small light in the car just to make sure its running(warning light)
I am excited to do the DOB setup. I have been working with Jason on installing one locally to me (since Jason is local to me). I have seen first hand on how to install it. I already have most of my items acquired and how I want to do mine. I'll post up a thread this fall when I start..
When did they go up in price? I swear the one for my 06 3v GT was closer to $300 with the wiring package.
No problems with it at all. Guessing at least 40,000 miles on it so far (however many hours that might be I have no clue).
I was considering switching to the Meziere engine water pump. If I did it I'd get the one without the pulley. You can easily run the belt from the crank pulley over the top of the lower right idler to the power steering pump. The only thing you need to figure out is the length of the new shorter belt. A shorter belt is another win as they stretch less. The pump is $400 without the idler.
