It really isn't that hard to do. There's different ways to do it but the best way in my opinion is to use a step drill bit. Mark where you want the oil with a Sharpie, than put duct tape around the spot to protect the surface. Drill a pilot hole and than start using the step drill bit. Just use some drill bit lubricant and go slow. It'll come out perfect.

you're right bud. decided to use everything in the faucet set and drill another hole for the air gap to go in the far right. my fiance's uncle is stopping by later with the step drill bits and drill. I might as well use all the pieces that came with the faucet set since I got such a good deal on it.

guess I'm ditching the whole air gap crap altogether and just running the hose straight to the garbage disposal. my fiance's uncle said he's done it this way a few times and has had no problems. if it's a code issue then I'll deal with It in about 10 years if I ever decide to sell the house. for now I took the old sink out and cleaned it up. had to run to lowes and bought a new valve so I could use the stainless steel hose for the cold water instead of the cheap hard line it has now. I also test fit the new sink and I'm gonna have to cut some of the counter out so the new sink drops in good. I'll be doing all that tomorrow. here's what it'll look like once it's set and dropped in tomorrow

That was kind of what I was thinking but wasn't sure how long you planned on staying in it. It'll definitely come up in the Inspections when you do sell it. All of our dishwashers are done like this here. I don't know if any other states do it like California, either. So no worries there. How much of the counter do you have to cut? Are you going to use the standard clips to snug it to the counter?

only have to trim about an 1/8" on all the sides. I'll be using the standard clips that
came with the sink to snug it down along with some clear waterproof silicone along the bottom edges. can't wait to get it all done tomorrow along with the new garbage disposal I bought. the old one looked like it hadn't been replaced since 2001.

got around to getting the install done today. cut away some of the counter with a grinder and it made a huge mess of cement dust everywhere. put the new garbage disposal in and almost got it put back together except for needing to buy a piece of the piping tomorrow since the new sink holes were a little more towards the center than the old sink. got everything else lined up except the piece running into the wall. got it siliconed in and tomorrow I'll run another bit of silicone underneath the sink border from inside the cabinet to make sure it's sealed correctly. took me forever to clean up the mess left from the grinding but in the end it's worth the upgrade

since my fiancé wants to repaint the dining room a different color I figured I might take my time and repaint my gazebo next. not sure if I want to keep it solid white or maybe paint the wood a shade of brown to match the cement floor I redid. any thoughts??

yeah I decided to keep it white. i think I'm just looking for more stuff to keep me busy that I want to change something just so I have something to work on haha.

actually last night I was looking up some of those front yard landscaping bushes or shrubs to plant beween my front yard and my neighbors since their damn kids feel it's ok to play in both of our yards and sit on my brick circle thing around my front tree in my house. Im not sure what to plant there to separate our yards though. what do you guys think? I seen some nice tall shrubs on tv the other day but have no idea what they were called.

Just a tall hedge? Just know it's going to require trimming to keep it from going wild and looking nice.

not sure yet man. the side I'm looking to plant in is the whole left side of the picture above. I also plan on cutting that tree down and planting a nice pine tree of some sort. the tree now looks sad and drops a lot of small leaves. I just need something separating my yard from there's other than that small strip of concrete that's running from the sidewalk you can see in that picture.

today's project

7e0b2b48.jpg

brought it down late last night and started cleaning it up and cutting the bigger branches off this morning. about halfway done and waiting for my buddy to get here with his truck so we can haul it away to the dump. I'm keeping the bigger pieces of tree for next years firepit firewood. planning on planting a redwood pine tree in the next couple of days. my neighbor owns a nursery and should be getting me a tree soon

first time I ever cut a tree down and removed it and I hope it's the last damn time I ever have to in my lifetime. I've never been so sore in my life. finally got the stump pulled out a while ago and made a trip to the dump early this morning. have to make one more trip out there tomorrow to get rid of the rest of the tree plus a few things from the garage. my neighbor who owns a nursery told me he could have a redwood here for me Monday or Tuesday and help me plant it.

im taking another day off work tomorrow to do some more work around the house.
