Sorry to here about you experiance with md. Do you know who worked on it. Adam and Matt have allways been good.
I decided after Chicago I wasn't going back.
Not because of anything they did. Just I felt the place was not the same.
I took there name off my car and have found a new guy to help me with my tuning.
Ken told me when he left he would help me. Said just call him anytime I needed him.
He won't even return calls or text

I wish more people had this guy's outlook... in the course of about 3 years, I went from knowing NOTHING about these Mustangs, or hell, Mustangs in general... to doing my own supercharger install, my own tuning, EVERYTHING on this car has been done by me, just like many other people... I wonder just how much money I have saved by DIY'ing it.

And I know if I can do it, any freakin person can.

 to you man.

DIY is the way to go, and the best way to learn.

I do all the work to my bmw but not to the Saleen. I don't have many tools and use my friends but he doesn't have a wide selection. There was too many expensive parts and too many new things going on that I didnt want to take a risk of messing everything up...

That sucks man...To bad you weren't closer to TPS as Benjy would have taken care of you. I'm not saying it wouldn't have taken that long but Benjy does all his own work so he knows what leaves his shop. Something like this is bullshit and not needed in the modding community.

On a side note: That Reichard Racing pulley will tear up that belt after a while. I tried one a while ago and it would rip the belt in half when powershifting. Also it is a mf'er on the idler pullies as it doesn't let the belt slip when you jump off the gas.

Also your power steering reservior cap is off...:kidding:

What did you go with? Just the KB pullies?

I don't know who was working on it... What happened in Chicago? The fire?

I want to spread the work about their shop. Also thinking about filing some credit card complaints?

No the fire is not the reason. I just think ken was the one who lead md.
I understand why he left and I don't blame him.
It's just time for me to move on.

I completely agree. Seems like without Ken, they are no better than any hole in the wall place.

Dude, your not the only one....

We have a Mystic 04 Cobra we run...single 76mm car, built 4R, Modular Depot engine...

It's my business partners brothers car...he sent it down there for the install of the engine roughly 9 months ago...Since then, the car has seen 4 shortblocks, and 2 longblocks...supposedly faulty heads....

Well, we get the car back, run it a few times...starts ticking....again...

So this time I decided I would pull the engine and do all the work myself...get the engine pulled out, and torn down....Well, 2 pistons are fried, completely!!

So I get further and further into the engine and notice that none of the clearances are the same on any of the rings, or the bearings..

I further start to investigate the wiring harness and notice that there was a wire cut and hid bick in the loom on both the cylinder's where the pistons were burnt...Don't know if it was purposely done, but it doesn't seem right....

So to speak my OP, I'll go somewhere else or do it myself....which it's not my car, but I'll try everything to not let it go there again!

Where did you send it to have the engine installed? Are you sure it's one of our motors?

Dang I was about to go to modular depot and someone close to me talked me out of it. Man I love this guy. I hate that for you. I would rather do install work my self and screw up than give my hard earned money to some crappy shop that doesn't care.

Yeah not going into details but I was strongly discouraged from going there. Keep in mind they are right in my back yard compaired to Power house 8 hrs away. Mike@ PowerHouse will be doing my final tune. He seems pretty smart.

Yea I know, but I refuse to take it back. They shouldn't have to re-do something like wiring. They should have done it nicely in the first place.

Found another issue I didn't post about yet. They used silicon in between the throttle body and the kb intake manifold... thats a big no-no. Some of the silicon falls off and gets into the intake manifold and thats a big issue

damn i use to work for a performance subaru outfit here in dallas and saw a bunch of screwed up engine bays but nothing like this, nothing looks to have its own place like it should. i would have never paid that bill seeing my engine look like that

Greg, part owner of Modular Depot, posted in a thread on here that the wiring would be cleaned up. His meaning of cleaned up meant adding about 2 or 3 wire looms. I expected it to be spotless when I went to pick up the car and I wanted the car out of there. They aren't local so I just took it, they kept dicking me around and it was SUPPOSED to be COMPLETELY finished when I picked it up.

For what it's worth, the 750 hp 2010 GT500 Whipple kit has you silicone the throttle body to the blower inlet and the blower to lower intake assembly. There's nothing wrong with using silicone there as long as you use it sparingly. There is always such thing as too much silicone no matter where you're using it.
