My friend had the same problem with his rears (leaking oil). Had two different sets for different s197 stangs. He contacted eibach and they rebuild the first set and replaced the other set under warranty. No receipt or questions asked. Try contacting them...

It's hard to "feel" one bad damper.

And to the OP, I don't know of any serious dampers that don't get rebuilt periodically. I wouldn't throw the towel in. Fronts suck a little when they go out but, rears are super easy.

KW's equivalent, the clubsports, have no warranty or maybe it was one year. Either way, they were like $680 for a full rebuild and that's if you don't have worn shafts. That's as cheap as you can get away with that rebuild.

Wow! Seriously? My Penske 7500s (single adj.) were only $330 to service and revalve the pair (+shipping). Was that $680 for all four or just the fronts?

And yes, +1 on finding it hard to feel one bad damper. I had a blown rear Koni that literally had zero compression left in her and (rather embarrassingly) I didn't know until I pulled it for an upgrade. :omfg:

It was for all four, so about the same as the Penskes. What do you have one the front ?

On a side note, the day I received my koni yellows I got a stop watch and compressed each of them and timed the return on full soft and full hard for future diagnostic purposes ....just incase oil leaking everywhere was not evident.

I could understand if it had a couple hard track days, or even alot of street miles.. I literally just put these on and they are leaking... Now they are going to want me to take it off and send it to them (2 weeks) then reseal (2 weeks) and wait for return (2 weeks).. I drive this car daily in the summer.. Either I need to drive from Canada down to Cali (3 days).. Or get them to send me 1 new dampener

Mmmm...I like the stop watch idea. Given that I almost never know what I'm doing, points of reference are like mana from heaven for me.

I'm running an Agent 47 SLA in front, so they use Penske 7500s up front (though I got a modest upgrade in getting the single adjustable dampers).

I would be willing to bet that a LOT of people are running around with a bad damper or maybe even 2 and do not know it.

Too true, particularly if it's not an out-and-out failure, but a degrading progression. After all, with as tightly tied down as these cars are with swaybars, there's a lot of cross-talk in the corners from torsional forces. This is one of the reasons that I'm leaning towards running as minimal a bar setup as I can, to open up the individual corner tuning.

Are they sending you a new damper without first sending them the bad one?
